History
The property was secured for the benefit of the Aboriginal community around 1980 through a partnership with the then Aboriginal Development Commission. Use of the property throughout the 1980s included cattle grazing, with a shearing school also established.
The shearing school created accessible training for a significant number of Aboriginal community members from across the Gomeroi/Gamilaroi nation with the shearing shed was extended in 1990 to accommodate the demand for shearing training.
At the current time the property is used as a working agricultural farm with a mix of dry cropping and cattle fattening. A facilities precinct, central to the property, along with the river access provide a range of opportunities for Aboriginal community members and local groups and organisations with access to a conferencing and event settings within an on-Country setting.
